Informal Biography
|
Hello! My name is Taylor and I'm from a small town in Utah. I'm a huge literature nerd - I love creative writing and reading novels and poetry. Some of my favorite writers are Elena Ferrante, Virginia Woolf, Joy Harjo, and Louise Gluck. I'm also interested in tech fields. When I was 14, I started a blog for girls in technology called Allgirlithm (allgirlithm.org), with two of my close friends. We now have 62 club chapters in 8 countries! I'm passionate about gender equality in the sciences, and have also been teaching tech workshops and summer camps for elementary and middle school girls for the past 3 years.
I’m a debater (Lincoln-Douglas) and captain of my school’s varsity tennis team. In my free time, you can find me hiking and exploring the Utah outdoors, baking, eating sushi, watching (and rewatching) Studio Ghibli films, or listening to a range of music: Red Velvet, The Marías, Bach, and Still Woozy.
